What scope are they looking it at, a particular market segment? Look for one that satisfies huge demands. 

 2. Will the cryptocurrency be able to handle high volumes of transactions without delay? I mean speed of confirmation. The forex market handles trillions of dollars, which cryptocurrency can have the ability to contain that. 

 3. The technology behind it. By default Bitcoin uses a reliable blockchain technology. Look out of tried and tested ones. Whether Blockchain or smart contract, it should be a reason you choose that coin. 

 4. What problem is the cryptocurrency solving? Let me give you an analogy. Only 2% of cryptocurrencies are spent worldwide easily. Will a cryptocurrency that solves the problem be a good asset for you?
  
5. How many people are going to use the coin? Remember that the value of a coin is driven by demand and usability.
